Off-grid Farm, by the River Dão, surrounded by gardens and woodland.
Moinhos is a working farm where we grow food, make our own energy and live closely with the seasons.

A peaceful valley.
An invitation to slow down.
To wake up with birdsong.
To harvest what you'll eat.
To get your hands dirty.
To cook with the seasons.
To spend more time outdoors.
To leave with something more than memories.
Come and see how we live.
There is no set way to experience Moinhos.
A day here can include harvesting vegetables, working in the garden, preparing lunch, preserving the season’s harvest, cooking, walking to the river or exploring the woods.
Our Day Experiences offer a taste of farm life. Our Farm Experiences give you more time to learn, grow, cook, preserve and take part in what is happening on the farm.
There is also plenty more to get involved in. We sometimes run specialised workshops, from making mosaics and baking sourdough bread to growing mushrooms or learning how to chop wood. You can feed the animals, collect eggs, spend time with them, or simply join in with whatever is happening that day.
There is no fixed schedule. What we do depends on the season, the weather and what needs doing.
Come and take part, get your hands dirty, and see what life on an off-grid farm is really like.
